Many companies place restrictions on their employees’ using the office computers to surf the Internet. Why do they do that? Perhaps they are scared of the virus threat, or they may want to economize on resources, so that other colleagues who need the network can acquire more fluid network.
This will present a problem to some people who are restricted to surf the Internet: Am I restricted to surf the Internet? Is there any other way to break through the blockade and continue to surf the Internet? Actually it is possible to break through the blockade. Next I would like to show you how to resolve binding IP and MAC address and is limited to surf the Internet.
Defuse methods: change IP and MAC address manually.
Now that IP and MAC address are binding, it is certain to change IP if you modify MAC.
Generally speaking, MAC address is fixed in the network card, and there will be some network ace try to revise their MAC address. There are two ways to modify MAC address: one is hardware revision and the other is software revisions. The hardware revision is to operate it on the network card directly. You just need to change the MAC address which saved in the EPROM of network card. You can change the memorizer via the update routine supplied by the network card manufacture. And what is EPROM? EPROM is a technical term of memorizer in electronics. It is erasable. That means you cannot erase all of them if you write on a white paper with a pen, and you can come erase them if you write on a white paper with a pencil. You can change all the data in the memorizer repeatedly. Of course, the software revision is much easier than this. In Windows, the MAC of network card is saved in the registry, and it is also extracted from the registry, so you just need to change the registry so that if you want to change MAC.
Revisions in Windows 2000/XP: Open the Registry Editor as, search for the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ 4D36E970-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318, and try to find DriverDesc that may exist in 0000,0001, 0002. If it’s found in 0000, please add a string variable named “NetworkAddress” in 0000 below, and set the value as the MAC address, for example: 000 102 030 405.
After the completion of above-mentioned operation, you just need to restart your machine and all will return to be fine. On the average, the source MAC address in the packet sent by network card is not written up the card itself, but is provided by the application. Simply in the usual implementation, application first gets the MAC address on the card, and then this MAC is used as the source MAC only each time you send while the MAC address of the registry editor in Windows installation can read from the card as long as you don’t reinstall your operating system.
Here is another method to change your MAC address: 1) Right click on the Local Area Connection -> Click Properties -> Click Configure under the General tab -> Click Advanced tab -> Click Network Address -> Checked the Value. 2) Then values are from here: Click on Start menu -> Click Run -> Type cmd in the Run box -> Press Enter key -> Type IPCONFIG /ALL and then press Enter when the black cmd box comes up -> Looking for the values in type of 00-1D-7D-77-45-83. 3) When you find this type of values, just type them into the Value’s box without the “–“. 4) Then change the last number or letter you want.
Guide to change the IP address: 1) Click on Start menu -> Click Run -> Type cmd in the Run box -> Press Enter key -> Type IPCONFIG /ALL and then press Enter when the black cmd box comes up -> Write down the IP Address. 2) Right click on the Local Area Connection -> Click Properties -> Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Click on Properties -> Unchecked Use the following IP address. 3) Then type the IP address you recorded (wrote down) into the IP address box -> Change the last number (for example: 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.4) -> Click OK.
No matter to change the IP or MAC address, the first important thing is to get a usable and unlimited MAC address and its corresponding IP. This IP/MAC address can be well used as long as there is not another same IP/MAC address being used in one LAN.
